Abul Kausar Muhammad Nazrul Islam is a Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami member of the 13th Parliament elected from Gaibandha-3.
Abul Kausar Muhammad Nazrul Islam is the member of parliament for Gaibandha-3, which consists of Sadullapur and Palashbari upazilas, in the 13th Parliament. He is serving in Parliament for the first time, as the candidate of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. Locally he is also known as Nazrul Islam Lebu.
He was born on 1 March 1961 in Palashbari upazila, Gaibandha district. His father's name is Amir Uddin Sarkar and his mother's Abeda Begum.
In the election to the 13th Parliament on 12 February 2026, Nazrul Islam was elected with 162,457 votes under the scales symbol. The BNP candidate for the seat, Professor Dr Syed Moinul Hasan Sadik, received 139,864 votes. He took the oath as a member of parliament on 17 February 2026.
